The Grand Harbour Hotel was built in the mid 1990s, alongside Southampton city's medieval town wall. But its real connection is with the maritime history of this bustling port.

Famously, it was from Southampton that the Pilgrim Father's sailed to America to establish the new world. The Hotel which overlooks the point of departure has commemorated this historic event by naming its impressive meeting rooms after the Mayflower and Speedwell, ships that sailed in 1620. The main bedroom suite, the Carver, is named after John Carver, who led the group to America.

More recently, the Titanic sailed from here in 1912 and the Hotel now witnesses the busy Cruiser activity on The Solent - Southampton being the home port of the QM2, The Queen Victoria, Navigator of the Seas and many other famous liners.
